| Notes: | The release of the album 'Music Hall' - with the fairly explanatory under title "Martin Hall Songs Performed by Starlets, Divas, Chanteuses and Comediennes" – once again reinforced MH's status as one of Denmark's most versatile songwriters, producers and musicians. Working under the mantle "music hall", the CD consists of 18, at the time, new recordings sung and performed by a selection of some of the best new Danish female artists.
Among other artists the list includes names such as Lise Westzynthius, who was nominated as best female singer at the Danish Music Awards that year, as well as Mette Sand Hersoug from the emerging Danish band Moon Gringo, another Danish Music Awards 2003 candidate. Catbird feat. Billie Koppel was yet one more group nominated in several categories at the Awards ceremony, and then there was Tanja Thulau (singer in Danish group Luke whose hit "Heaven's on Fire" featured a quite controversial video).
Apart from these younger names, the CD also contains contributions from the new band constellation Belgravia feat. Aud Wilken, the great voice from Danish post-punk act The Poets and who in 1995 gave Denmark its first top 5 appearance in 40 years in the International Eurovision Song Contest. Then there's Andrea Pellegrini, the fabulous mezzo-soprano from Hall's highly critically acclaimed soundtrack 'Camille', and finally the CD-debut as far as the grand lady of Danish theatre (at the time 58 year old) Isa Holm was concerned. Furthermore "the king of Danish fashion", designer and entrepreneur Mads Nørgaard, comments pop music on "Documentary 1", as well as sensational debut novelist Jeff Matthews reflects on charm and femininity on "Documentary 3".
The record was released on MH's new label Panoptikon, which simultaneously released his scandalous - and legendary! - National Danish Radio concert 'Inskription' in relation to its 20 years jubilee (see separate link).
"She Shines" is produced by Johnny Stage, "Blue Eyes Bolero" by Frank Hasselstrøm and "Burning Sugar" by Thomas Li.
