'The Martin Hall Document' was a compilation CD made for the interest of the many new listeners that the 'Presence' album had given MH. It was s selection of tracks stretching from Ballet Mécanique's 'The Icecold Waters Of The Egocentric Calculation' to the complete songs of the 'Cutting Through' album. This title was also re-released as a one-record album at the same time, entitled 'Cutting Through: The Re-Release' (MHLP1 210 105).
The 'Document' CD used the dates of the original recordings as its reference, not the dates of the record releases, which explains the "shortened" period from 1981 to 1985 ('Cutting Through' was released in 1986). The material was selected and compiled by MH in December 1988 and the CD included the following introduction:
" Retrospect: Symptom and signal, symbol and stigma - a shadow is cast, of moments and momentum, the pulsebeat of the years. Index of appreciation in relation to this movement: Dansk Sam, Per Hendrichsen, Camilla Hoeiby, Michael Karshoej, Henrik Moll, Jesper Reisinger, Ken Rivad, Robin Skjoldborg, Morten Versner and Lena Walsh.
