| Notes: | To this day Ballet Mécanique still stands out as the most sensational post-punk act on the Danish music scene, really with no competitors in sight. When the debut album, 'The Icecold Waters Of The Egocentric Calculation', was released, it was instantly proclaimed as a piece of Danish rock-history by legendary (now deceased) Danish poets and critics such as Michael Strunge and Poul Borum, and the record still figures on the list over the 50 most important releases in Danish rock ever in Danish rock encyclopedia 'Politikens Rockleksikon'.
The group synthesized rock, avantgarde and poetry in an absolutely unheard way, using dancers and films at their concerts to recreate their own surrealistic ecology on stage. They played (in)famous concerts such as at The Copenhagen Reggae Festival in Enghaveparken (1980) and at Roskilde Festival 1981. Released their second and final album 'For' in 1982 (read on about Ballet Mécanique under this title) after which MH reconstituted the group as Under For (read 'Apparently All The Same' notes concerning this group).
'The Icecold Waters Of The Egocentric Calculation' was at the time also released in Holland and Germany.
In relation to the album’s 25th anniversary Sony-BMG re-released the record as a double-cd in September 2006. Read more about this title here: The Icecold Waters Of The Egocentric Calculation- Special Edition .
